Immunizations

Fully immunizing your child according to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics can help protect your child from many common infections. These infections can lead to serious and even life threatening complications. Although the vaccines may have mild side effects and more rarely, serious complications, in general, it is safer to immunize your children than allow them to get any of the infections that they prevent. To schedule your child’s appointment call the number below.

Some adults incorrectly assume that the vaccines they received as children will protect them for the rest of their lives. Generally this is true, except that:

  • Some adults were never vaccinated as children
  • Newer vaccines were not available when some adults were children
  • Immunity can begin to fade over time. As we age, we become more susceptible to serious disease caused by common infections such as the flu or pneumococcus

It can sometimes be difficult to understand or keep track of exactly which vaccines you need. Call Community Health Center of Central Missouri and talk to one of our representatives. Then you and your doctor can decide which vaccines you need and when to get them.
